With local roots and international experience in both Sicily and Australia, the founder Chris Winspear has created the perfect blend of stunning aesthetics, creativity and charm. The designer began his career in Australia in 1998, and worked with a successful goldsmith in Sydney.
After this, he decided to return home to study at Wits Tech University to further his expertise in the design field. He completed his diploma in jewellery design and manufacture in 2005. While at university in 2004, he won the Jewellex Jewellery Design Competition for best design.

Besides appearing alongside some gorgeous jewellery in appreciable magazines, Chris Winspear has recently completed a beautiful South African flag brooch for Nelson Mandela, consisting of 18 carat yellow gold and 143 precious stones, as a tribute to this legendary man.

Most recently, the designer was proud to take part in the first ever South African Comics Choice Awards, by developing and manufacturing the eye-catching Waldo Winspear trophy, which was featured in the Citizen newspaper.

The upcoming World AIDS Day on 1st December 2011 is a matter close to Chris Winspear’s heart. In cooperation with L’Oreal and 5fm, he is supporting the event by designing a special brooch which will be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to an AIDS orphanage. Like every other unique piece of the Chris Winspear Design Jewellers collection, this brooch will also combine prestige, elegance and opulence.
